Police

Patience

Civil society I suppose should have a police force/service. There are some nasty, naughty people in every society who will do their best to do others harm. So, for example, if I find my house burgled the people I would like to come to help me, investigate the crime and hopefully put the burglar away would be the police. Preferably they would do this quickly, efficiently and with due respect to me and mine as I, as a taxpayer am funding them to carry out these duties.

Rage

Utter bastards. They'll grab at any and every power they can, even in a reasonably decent democracy. British police are now seriously exploring the use of predator drones to monitor peaceful demonstrations amongst other things. How long before we find such drones armed with 'non-lethal' weaponry e.g. tear gas to be dropped on anyone a drone spots and its pilot decides is a potential menace? This technology is being introduced with little consultation and no accountability. Not good.

Patience and rage - why?

Because, I suppose like so many others I am consumed by fury at so many things yet nevertheless feel I must not reach for the nearest gun. This would be bad and wrong.

Rage? Rage at the bastard bankers who lost so many people's pensions, savings and yet strut their stuff and pocket their bonuses. I had a call from my bank the other day asking about my paltry overdraft. I wanted to rage and say well, you owe me a few grand, how about we cut that out of the overdraft then we're quits?

Patience? I think it's more graceful not to give the swine satisfaction. Do they feel guilt? Probably not. But it was sweet schadenfreude to see so many of the idiots crashing their fuck off 4x4's in the recent ice and snow. They buy these motors to let the rest of us know how powerful and rich they are but when it comes to the crunch (no pun intended) they don't know how to drive them. Oh, how we laughed.
